2013 WORC Annual Conference dates and location announced.

Conference held in Vancouver, WA at the Heathman Lodge November 19-20.

The Washington Organic Recycling Council will hold it's Annual Convention in Vancouver, WA at the Heathman Lodge on November 19-20, 2013. 

The theme of the conference will be on odors related to compost.  The conference committee is working hard to fill the speaker lineup.  One of the confirmed speakers will be Mike McGinley of St. Croix Sensory out of Minnesota.

The Heathman Lodge has given us a great conference room rate at $99.00/night.  Call them soon to make your reservations.

We will keep you up to date as we get more speakers confirmed and registration opens.

Soils for Salmon

The Soils for Salmon project, begun by WORC in 1999, has spread awareness that the health of salmon and all our water resources depends on how we treat the soil, especially in developing urban and suburban areas. The project promotes "BMP's" (best management practices) for protecting native soil and restoring disturbed soils with compost.
