Join the Washington State Recycling Association and the Washington Organic Recycling Council as they partner for a one of a kind WRED event focusing on composting, at every part of the journey. Attendees will hear from a range of speakers, including those who grow food, consume food, compost food, and use compost. This event will allow attendees to see and hear about the composting cycle, and their role in it! Hot topics like contamination and the effects of packaging and bags will be covered by expert speakers, and attendees will be given a detailed tour of Lenz Enterprises’ composting facility in Stanwood, WA!

Dell Deierling, Marysville Food Bank

Dell Deierling began his career as director of the Marysville Community Food Bank in April of 2010.  In his time at the food bank he learned a fair amount about the food supply chain and in particular the end of that chain.  Prior to running a food bank, he spent 14 years at Microsoft in supply chain planning roles for computer hardware. Dell’s education includes a BS in Physical Metallurgy and an MBA, both from Washington State University. Interests include traveling, motorcycling, racquetball, climbing, hiking, fishing, mushrooming and archery.

Dell was raised in Snohomish and still reside there with his beautiful wife.  He and his wife have a teenage daughter who is attending university in southern California.
