The Trouble with Compostables

"Why Some Composters Don’t Want Compostable Products"

Not all compost facilities accept compostable packaging and food service ware. This presentation examines the reasons for non-acceptance polices at composting facilities from the perspective of a compost facility site manager.

"Does Choosing Something Compostable Mean It's Better for the Environment?"

The environmental impacts of packaging and food service ware are increasingly the subject of government policy, public discourse, and industry commitments. While some consideration is given to reducing the impacts of packaging across its entire life cycle, much of the focus is on what happens when this packaging becomes waste. In this presentation, we’ll examine the question “Does being compostable consistently correlate with reduced life cycle environmental impacts for packaging and food service ware?”
